The BP-51 is a user-adjustable internal bypass 4WD shock absorber that provides increased comfort and control, both on and off-road.

All BP-51 shock absorbers are designed and manufactured in-house by ARB using state-of-the-art machining and hard-anodizing equipment.

The body of a BP-51 shock is constructed from 6061 anodized aluminum to dissipate heat more efficiently than steel or alloy steel and provide superior corrosion resistance.

Extensive dynamometer, real-world and destructive testing has been undertaken throughout the development process to ensure reliability, longevity and performance meet ARB’s impeccable standards.

Unlike other adjustable shock absorbers, which only provide adjustment for compression, the BP-51’s flexibility allows for independent adjustment of rebound and compression. This unique feature enables personalized driving customization, allowing adjustments to suit the specific requirements of each trip or excursion, making the BP-51 a market leader in its category. The new range of high-performance BP-51 bypass shock absorbers is the result of an exhaustive development process aimed at delivering the ultimate in comfort and control. Designed, developed, and thoroughly tested by ARB’s Ride Control Engineering team, the BP-51 shock absorbers are specifically tailored for each vehicle and utilize pre-existing mounting points for easy installation without the need for additional modifications to the vehicle.

Features of the BP-51 shock absorber

POSITION SENSITIVE DAMPING
The cushioning increases as you get closer to the end zone, meaning you’ll experience greater end zone control and ride height comfort.
ADJUSTABLE
External, independent rebound and compression adjustment on the vehicle allows for fine-tuning of ride control and comfort to suit different vehicle, load and ride requirements.
QUALITY ALUMINUM MATERIAL
6061 grade aluminum shock body with 51mm inner diameter, with Type III hard anodized finish for increased heat dissipation and corrosion resistance.
SPECIFIC APPLICATION FOR BOLTS
Each BP-51 is expertly designed to bolt onto your vehicle, meaning no installation modifications or adjustments are required.
REMOTE RESERVOIR
The 6061 grade aluminum remote oil pan allows for increased oil volume resulting in lower oil temperatures.
HIGH TEMPERATURE HOSE
The durable Dash 6 high-temperature Teflon hose incorporates high-flow fittings for optimal oil flow.
SPHERICAL CUSHIONS
Large Teflon coated spherical bearings.
TOP HAT
6061 grade aluminum top hat.
SPRING ADJUSTMENT
The 6061 grade aluminum adjuster allows for spring preload and ride height adjustment.
X5K COIL
High quality X5K grade steel coil, for use in coil over models, incorporates an application specific design.
SPRING SEAT
6061 grade aluminum spring seat.
